Anybody still out there? Wow it has been a long time since I posted to the blog. A couple of things contributed. For awhile I honestly just got tired of writing about all the current events I tend to write about. I was burnt from all the reading and research I was doing. I was tired of all the negative rhetoric that seems to be out there right now. I was tired of trying to wrap my head around all of it and spew it back out onto the pages of this blog. It was starting to depress me.

The other things that kept me from the blog would be the fact that we sold our house and bought a new one. I’ll say this: I hate moving. What a stressful time. We had to wait almost 4 months between our offer and closing because we were waiting to close on our old house. Amazingly we negotiated closing terms for the new house right up until 3 days before closing. Ugh, months of negotiations are not enjoyable. We are in and mostly settled though. Still some boxes to unpack and put away.

The third thing that has kept me absent this blog is the birth of my second child. Jacob Steven was born Oct. 17th just after midnight.

Man, what a busy year. It is all such a blur. Things are starting to settle down. I have one week of work left before I take a leave of absence to spend time with my wife and sons. Six weeks off will be just what the doctor ordered after the year we have had. Don’t get me wrong, it has been an exciting time and we are so happy with our new digs, but it was exhausting.

Cody will be 5 in January and starts kindergarten next year so that should shake things up again.

Hope some of you are still out there and sharing this blog with me. I hope to be updating more frequently now that I have a second wind. It’s nice to be back.
